Pacific Poker day at the races

March 5th, 2010 by Ken

I got into a great game of online poker last night at Pacific Poker, Texas Hold’em which is my favourite, cannot say that I won anything but I was in good company there. There is something about Texas Hold’em which holds a fascination for me and for thousands of others as well, after all thanks to televised poker it has become the become the world’s most popular poker game, both in live casinos and online at sites like 888.com

During an interval to get my breath back and to grab a quick cup of coffee, I noticed that amongst a host of other stunning promotions at the 888.com site, there was a chance to win a day at the races, not just any day at any race track, but fabulous Cheltenham with a $2,000 VIP package including 2 tickets and accommodation, now that is worth competing for at a game I love anyway. I missed out on the first one as I was away on a trip to Malaga, but I will certainly be in the next qualifier which is on Sunday 7th March.

I not a great lover of just watching thoroughbreds running round a track, but there is something entirely different about the Cheltenham Festival. For one thing it is Ireland’s trip away and boy do they know how to enjoy themselves! The craic and the all round good humour is something to behold, but wait, you can bet your last penny that there will be a group of Irishmen in your hotel, or digs and the poker games that go on all night are something else, I can’t wait.
